The Lazuli bunting is a brilliant splash of color to shrubby hillsides. This summer resident winters along Mexico’s Pacific slope and returns here each spring to breed. Spot his sky blue head, pumpkin-colored chest, and heavy bill. Light brown females with blue-black wings are often nearby.
